After you are done with the basic editing in the Adobe Premiere Pro, you need to go to the Adobe After Effects to apply special effects and complete developments like keying and tracking. 1. To Get Your File to the Timeline, Drag and Drop It from the Folder to the Timeline
Do not waste your time in importing the file of your choice. Just drag it from its folder and drop it into the timeline. In case you want to go to the actual folder of your file, then right-click on the record that appears in your timeline and press the Reveal in Finder button.
2. To Place the Anchor Point, Consider Using the Pan Behind Tool
If you want to position the anchor point, you can use the Pan-Behind tool. Placing the anchor point on the corners and edges of the layer can be very difficult. Therefore, go to the Pan-Behind option and press hold the Control key to move around and to locate the perfect spot for your anchor point.
3. Add Layers Using the Duplicate Layer Tool
It is always good to use keyboard shortcuts to do your work quickly. To add a new layer, tap on the current layer in your timeline and press Control +D in your keyboard. This way, you can create a duplicate layer without much effort.
4. Use Keyboard to Create Layer Markers and Compositions
It is important to have markers in your layer as it helps you get a better grip of the video while you apply the effects. If you want to add a marker in your layer, click on the layer and hit ‘*’ on your keyboard. In case you like to add a composition marker, just hit ‘*’ on the keyboard without clicking any layer.
5. Make Sure Your Project Is Safe By Activating AE AutoSave
Always turn on the autosave option before you start working. For that, go to the Edit option and choose Preferences. Now select autosave from the menu that appears and tick the box beside Automatically Save Projects.
6. Use Saved Frames to Show Work Samples
Suppose you have to show a sample of your project to your clients, send them a frame from the project rather than saving the whole project and sending them. To save a frame, go to Composition and select Save Frame As. Now choose File and Photoshop Layers, click on the File and adjust the format of your output.
7. Change Shortcuts on Keyboard
If you know keyboard shortcuts, you can save a lot of time during your work. In Adobe After Effects, you can change and form your own keyboard shortcuts. To get access to that, you will have to install KeyEd Up, which is a script. This software is free; however, you must have an Adobe Suite registered account.
8. Place Objects On Your Canvas With the Align Tools
When working with a lot of objects on your screen, you can use the AE Align option to place them faster. You can locate the Align box in the right-hand side corner of your screen, otherwise, hover to Windows and choose Align.
9. Rehabilitate Quickly
If you want to replace something on your timeline, go to the media bin and drag it from there to drop it. To do the same work quickly, click on the desired layer and press hold Control + Alt. After that, drag the newly created layer to the preview space.
10. Enhance Your Colors With the System Color Picker
After Effects lets you play with the colors very well. In case you have a large project to work on, it might take a lot of time to find the colors. To simplify the task, move to Edit, select Preferences, then tap on General. Tick mark the checkbox in front of the System Color Picker checkbox.
